Final CAD Assembly

The assembly was created on SolidWorks using a combination of newly designed parts and existing parts

Newly designed parts include the bearing supports and plate for the motor

Manufacture

Profiles for the main frame were cut to size, holes drilled where necessary and then the frame was welded together

The bearing supports were 3D printed and used to connect the shafts to the frame

Four pulleys and two belts were used to transfer power from the motor to the rollers. The pulleys were attached to the shafts using bolts or bushings

The motor had a speed of 95 RPM which translates to a belt velocity of approximately 0.25m/s for the size of pulley used

Future Development Plan

These CAD models show potential modifications which could be made to allow a pallet to remain stationary while other pallets are still moving

The first concept powers different sections of the conveyor using different motors, allowing part of the conveyor to be running while another part is stationary

The second concept is a simpler solution where plates can be slotted into the L profiles to prevent further movement, effectively holding a pallet at a certain point
