Trilateral Fork

An independent rotating fork system with a design load of 400N. Unlike conventional trilateral fork designs, this head rotates around its geometric centre, making it even more compact.

Final CAD Assembly

The full assembly was created. This ensured chosen dimensions for each individual part were suitable.

Design and Optimisation

Finite Element Analysis was carried out. This alowed various fork designs to be quickly tested and optimised. A support piece was created from this which reduced tip deflection by 40% when loaded.

Manufacture

Advanced prototyping techniques such as 3D printing were used to speed up the manufacturing process
